Fig - Ficus caria

A truly ancient fruit crop, the fig originates in the Eastern Mediterranean, and is now grown in all temperate regions of the World. The large shiny leaves are particularly attractive and varied in shape, many have three to five lobes, while others have none. There are numerous varieties, varying in colour from green, to gold and deep purple. This plant was grown in Surrey, where it fruits well each year. When cut open, the pinkish pulpy flesh and pale seeds are revealed, which is delicious eaten ripe from the tree.

Limited edition of 150 giclée prints signed and numbered by the artist.
